SUPPORT THE CAMPAIGN

This campaign is about building people-powered change from the ground up.

Every contribution helps us reach voters, organize our community, and fight for a government that works for working families—not just the wealthy and well-connected.

If you’re done watching insiders sell us out, help us do something about it.

Marlayna is your neighborhood mom, fighting for everyday people.

Dear Neighbor,

Today, we’re drawing a line and saying: enough is enough.

Enough with a government that listens more to large corporations, special interest lobbyists, and overpaid career politicians than to the people it is supposed to serve.

Enough with working families doing everything right and still struggling to afford housing, healthcare, groceries, and basic necessities while the people in power protect insiders instead of the communities they represent.

We deserve better than politics as usual.

We deserve leaders who understand real life firsthand: teachers, parents, workers, and caregivers. We need public servants who know what it means to stretch a paycheck, care for a family, worry about the future, and still keep showing up for their community.

I am an exceptionally ordinary person.

I’m a stay-at-home mom raising my son, and like so many people in our community, my life revolves around my family, my neighbors, and the hope of building a better future for our kids.

I’m not a career politician. I’m someone who has been paying close attention. Someone who sees what is happening in our communities, who knows that too many people feel ignored, and who believes ordinary voices deserve a real seat at the table.

I’m running for Tennessee State House District 37 (Murfreesboro, Smyrna & La Vergne) because I believe government should belong to the people again.

I believe we deserve leaders who listen first, act with courage, work across differences, and remember that public service is about serving the public, not protecting power.

If you’ve been waiting for the moment to step up, this is it.

Let’s build something better, together.

With Gratitude,
Marlayna Trego

TN DISTRICT 37 CAMPAIGN PRIORITIES

groceries

AFFORDABILITY FOR ALL

Affordability for all means no parent should work themselves to the bone and still lie awake wondering how they’ll pay for groceries, rent, or a doctor’s visit. In one of the richest countries on earth, survival should not be this hard.

hospital

ACCESS TO HEALTHCARE

No one should have to choose between getting help and paying their bills. No parent should delay care for their child. No family should go broke because someone got sick. Being alive should not be a luxury.

public health - libraries, roads, infrastructure, public services etc

PROTECTING PUBLIC HEALTH

Protecting public health means protecting the things ordinary people rely on to survive and live with dignity: schools, libraries, parks, roads, emergency services, & more. When these systems are gutted, censored, or politicized, working families pay the price.

REGISTER TO VOTE BY JULY 7

PRIMARIES ARE AUGUST 6

Our government and community is meant to be shaped by ordinary people, not dominated by career politicians and powerful corporations.

But that only happens when ordinary people show up. Your vote is how you push back, speak up, and help decide who holds power.

If you want government to belong to the people, it starts with you registering to vote.
